Comments
For all record types, you can request or enter additional information in the team conversation. You can also link items such as files, drawings, and other records to your comments.
The activity stream, which includes the team conversation, appears in the Information panel for collaborative record types and on the Comments tab for all record types. If the record has a locked workflow status, only the primary details and the resolution are displayed. The other comments are hidden, and new comments can't be added.
- Open the record.
- If the full record opens, click the Comments tab.
The comments are displayed according to when they were first added.
- In the Information panel or on the Comments tab, click Show Details.
Some record types automatically display all the comments in a locked record.
- On the comment card or in the Links panel, click the item.
- Only the items that you have permission to view are displayed.

- Primary details: The question (RFIs) or description (other record types) that you add when you create the record.
- You create a draft RFI but don't add the question yet.
- In the Links panel of the draft record, you link a file.
- In a drawing, you link an annotation to the draft record.
- The linked items are added to the activity stream of the draft record.
- You enter the question in the draft record, and then click (Send).
- The file and drawing are moved to the comment card for the question.
- Comments: Supporting details that are visible to everyone with access to the record. You can add these comments after the primary details are entered.
- Resolution: The answer (RFIs) or resolution (other record types) for the record. This option is available if you have permission to add a resolution. After a resolution is added, you can still add and edit comments until the record has a locked workflow status.
After you add the question or description to a record, any previously linked items are moved to the same card in the activity stream.
Submittals use the Mark as Approved Docs toggle to mark the resolution.
For data-entry records, comments are added as supporting details. These record types don't have primary details or resolutions.
You can add comments in the record or add them by replying to an assignment notification. If the notification setting is on, record participants receive an email when new comments are added.
Links and attachments added to the record are also listed under the Comments tab. These types of comments do not have accompanying text. Therefore, participants will not receive a notification when these are added and will not be able to promote or demote these types of comments.

Participants include the author, assignees, and courtesy copy recipients, as well as individual contacts and contacts of companies that are listed in any standard record fields.
- Your comments are not included in the email notification.
