Assignments
When you assign a record to other people, they have access to that record. If default assignees were set for the record at the record settings level, they are added automatically to the new record, and the record’s workflow state is changed to the first non-draft state.
Default assignees are currently not available for checklists.

- Open the record.
- In the Information panel of the record view, click View All, and then expand the Assigned To section.

In the Information panel of the full record, expand the Assigned To section.

- Open the record view.
- If the Search panel isn't open, click
(Search) on the navigation toolbar.
- In the Assigned To section, click Me or My Company, so it's selected (check).


After you add an assignment to a draft record, the record automatically changes to the next workflow status in the list. If the notification setting is on in the web application, assignees receive an email when they're added. Assignees can add a comment to the record by replying to the notification.
Notifications are sent after the project data is synced.

- In the Assigned To section of the panel, click Add.
- Select a person, who can only be assigned once to the record.
- On the contact card, add or edit the due date.
A contact card is added to the Assigned To section. The assignment is also noted in the activity stream of the record.

The due date is set automatically to the same due date, if one is available, as the parent record.

If you're assigned to a record, you can add a comment and link items to it by replying to the email notification. However, the assignment isn't marked as done until you manually change it.

- Open the email notification, and create a reply.
- In the reply email, enter your comment above the indicated line.
- Attach files to your response.
- Send the reply.

In the email notification, click Reply.

To include a web link, enter the URL in the reply. In ProjectSight, you can't click the link, but you can copy and paste it into a browser.
The files will be linked to the comment in the record.
The reply is added to the Comments tab of the record.


- In the Assigned To section of the panel, on the contact card, click more_horiz (More) > Edit.
- Click and drag the contact card to the desired place.
Assignments don't have to be completed in this order.

- On the contact card, click Due on Date, and select the new date.
You can only change the due date for assignments that aren't completed yet.

- On the contact card, click check (Mark Done), so it becomes green (check).

You can only remove assignments that aren't done yet.

- On the contact card, click more_horiz (More) > Remove.
This person will no longer receive notifications.
