Daily Reports

You can use daily reports to track the daily activity of the crews on the job site.

Daily reports are not applicable for projects in the free version of ProjectSight.

License: Certain actions, such as adding daily reports, require a license as well as security permission. Contact your project administrator if you are unable to perform some actions using the mobile app.

Daily reports list view

  1. Downloads all daily reports
  2. Number of daily reports downloaded
  3. Record status
  4. Approved records are locked and cannot be updated
  5. Date of report
  6. Downloads all the drawings or files linked to this daily report. Any new links will be automatically downloaded when the project is synced.
  7. Total approved labor
  8. Weather condition
  9. Number of notes
Daily Report
  1. Copy from another daily report
  2. Save the record
  3. Date of report
  4. Record status - Approving a daily report does not affect the labor cards.
  5. Total lost productivity. Select Toggle arrows icon to change the unit of measurement.
Weather Summary
  1. A summary of the latest weather entry
  2. If the Project Settings are set to automatic weather entry and the total rainfall is zero, Auto populated displays. If total snowfall or rainfall is entered, those entries will display instead.
Daily Reports enter precipitation
  1. If the Project Settings are set to automatic weather entry and the total rainfall is zero, Auto populated displays. SelectLocked iconto manually enter a value.

Charlie, the chatbot for Daily Reports, is available to ProjectSight Enterprise and Go users, in English, and requires an active internet connection.

Home Page

Charlie chatbot home page
  1. Select to view Charlie chatbot capabilities
  2. Select to copy a report from a previous date
  3. Type text to enter labor or equipment details
  4. Select to expand the text box
  5. Non-activated microphone: Select to activate the microphone and then speak to enter details

Labor

The Daily Reports AI Assistant does not support projects with Labor settings configured to Detailed. If Detailed labor settings are configured, the chatbot icon does not display in the Labor section of a daily report.

When you have provided enough information, Charlie creates a suggested labor entry that you must approve.

Proposed labor card

  1. Select to edit the suggested labor card
  2. Select to add attachments
  3. Select to reject the suggested labor card
  4. Select to accept the suggested labor card

When you select Edit for a suggested labor card, an editable card displays.

Chatbot editable Labor card

  1. Select the Company field to view, search, and select a company from a list
  2. Select the Crews field to view, search, and select a crew from a list
  3. Select to enter a different number of hours and minutes worked
  4. Select to enter a different number of workers
  5. Select the Location field to view, search, and select a location from a list
  6. Select to enter a description
  7. Select to save your edits
  8. Select to return to the suggested labor card
  9. Select Restart chatbot conversation icon, then select Yes, to restart your conversation
  10. Select x to exit the chatbot session and return to the Labor page

If a chatbot prompt for company, crew, or location is ambiguous, Charlie displays a selectable list with close matches so you can choose an option. See the following example that begins with a prompt to add a labor entry for a company.

Example 1

Use your voice or enter text to select a company from the list, or if you need to offer additional or different information you can do so at any time during the chatbot session.

Use your voice or enter text to select a crew from the list. Once Charlie has enough information, you are presented with a proposed labor entry.

If Charlie offers more than 10 options for a company, crew, or location, a link to a lookup list is offered instead of a selectable list.

Choose an option, then select Select to return to the chatbot session. Charlie may request additional information. Once Charlie has enough information, you are presented with a proposed labor entry that you can accept, reject, or edit.

Daily Reports

  1. In the Daily Reports list view, select Add button.
  2. On the Create Daily report page, choose the date, then select Add.

    3. You can create only one daily report for each day.

  3. To add assignments, select Assign.

  4. To send courtesy copies, select CC.

  5. Enter additional details, then select save icon.

Workflow templates are not applicable for Free or Go projects.

If the start step of a template is unrestricted, or you have security permissions for a restricted start step, you can access and create an item with a workflow template from the records list view.

  1. In the Daily reports list view, select Add button.
  2. On the Create Daily report page, choose a day, then select Add.

    3. You can create only one daily report for each day.

  3. If there is only one template available, the New Daily Report page displays. If there are multiple templates available, the Select Template page displays. Choose a template, then select Add.

    4. In the list, a star icon indicates the default workflow template that is selected by your administrator.

  4. To send courtesy copies, select CC.
  5. If you have permissions, you can make Assignments and require a response from assignees by selecting Assign/Assign to.
  6. Enter additional details and information.
  7. To save your updates and return to the records list, select save icon.

    8. A pop-up message displays: New Daily Report created.

  1. Open or create a new daily report.
  2. Select copy icon.
  3. Select Copy from yesterday or Copy from a specific date.

    4. When you copy a daily report, the labor and equipment section entries copy over to the new daily report. If the original labor and equipment data includes custom field values, the values copy to the new record.

  4. If you're copying from a specific date, choose a date, then select Add.
  5. Enter additional details on the record edit page, then select save icon.

    6. When you copy from a previous daily report, the new daily report status is set to Pending. You can create only one daily report per day.

  1. In the record view, select Status.

    2. A Status page displays with a list.

  2. To search the list, enter text in the Search field.

    3. —Or—

    To choose an item from the list, select it, then select Select to return to the record view.

    —Or—

    To return to the record view without making changes, select <.

  3. In the record view, select save icon.

Weather Card

  1. Open a daily report.
  2. Select Weather.
  3. Select add icon.
  4. On the Add Weather page, enter the required fields.
  5. Select Done.
  6. Select <.
  7. Select save icon.

    8. The latest weather entry is displayed on the daily report weather summary section.

  1. Open a daily report.
  2. Select Weather.
  3. In the weather log, select Icon - More menu.
  4. Select delete icon Delete.
  5. Select <.
  6. Select save icon

Labor Card

  1. Open a daily report.
  2. Select Labor.
  3. Select add icon.
  4. Enter the required fields.
  5. To change the status, select Status. To search the list, enter text in the Search field.

    —Or—

    To choose an item from the list, select it, then select Select to return to the Add Labor page.

    —Or—

    To return to the Add Labor page without making changes, select <.

  6. Select Done.
  7. Manually add a worker to the labor card.

    8. This option is available only if the labor card is set to display a "Detailed" grid of workers. This is set in the web application Record Settings > Daily Reports > Document As.

  8. Select <.
  9. Select save icon.
  1. Open or create a new daily report.

  3. Select copy icon.
  4. Select Copy from yesterday or Copy from a specific date.

    5. All labor data fields copy over, including custom fields.

    8. Labor records with an Approved status copy over with a Pending status in the new daily report.

  3. Select the labor card to edit.
  4. Select Done.

  6. After editing the card, select save icon.

  4. In the WORKERS section, select a name to edit an existing worker.

    Select + to manually add a worker and project-level budget code to the labor card.

    These options are available only if the labor card is set to display a "Detailed" grid of workers. This is set in the web application Record Settings > Daily Reports > Document As.

  5. In Add Worker or Edit Worker, select the Budget Code field.
  6. Select a budget code from the dropdown list.
  7. Select Select.

    Select < to exit without making a change.

  8. After editing the card, select save icon.

  3. In the labor card, select more icon.
  4. Select delete icon Delete.

    5. Only labor cards that have not been approved can be deleted.

  1. From the Charlie chatbot home page, select Copy a report from a previous date.

    2. The last six days display in a selectable list, along with a link to additional days.

  2. Select a day from the selectable list.

    3. —Or—

    Select the View all available reports link, choose a specific date, and then select Add.

    A proposed card displays.

  3. To edit the proposed card, select Edit, make your changes, and then select Save.

    4. —Or—

    For a labor card, you can select + to add attachments.

    —Or—

    To accept the card, select Accept.

    —Or—

    To reject the card, select Reject

    When you copy a daily report, the labor and equipment section entries copy over to the new daily report. If the original labor and equipment data includes custom field values, the values copy to the new record.

  3. To see how Charlie can assist with labor entries, select View Capabilities.
  4. To enter labor details, type in the text box Add icon.

    Select Microphone Microphone icon to activate the microphone and speak.

  5. Select Expand icon to expand the text box.
  6. To send your text to Charlies, select Send Send icon. Charlie may request additional information. If so, provide additional text to respond to Charlie, then select Send icon.

    7. If you would like to turn on audio for Charlie, select Audio icon. To pause audio, select again. To quickly toggle audio on or off, double tap. If you make a selection by double tapping, that selection is remembered across chat sessions.

  6. To return to the Daily report, select x.
  7. To save your labor entry, select save icon.
  1. In a proposed labor card, select + Attachments.
  2. Choose an option:
    • Select Icon - photos/videos from the library Photos/Videos, then choose the photos or videos from your library.
    • Select camera icon Take Photos to take a photo or video. If you would like to annotate a photo or change the properties, select Edit icon.
    • Select Upload files to choose, upload, and link a file to the labor card.
    • Select Cancel to return to the proposed labor card.
  3. Once you've added attachments and made any desired edits to the proposed labor card, select Accept.

    4. A confirmation message displays confirming that Charlie is applying your changes to the card.

  4. To exit the chatbot session and return to the Labor page, select x.
  5. To return to the record page, select <.
  6. To save your changes, select save icon.

Equipment

Charlie, the chatbot for Daily Reports, is available to ProjectSight Enterprise and Go users, in English, and requires an active internet connection.

  1. Open a daily report.
  2. To open Charlie, in the Equipment section, select the Chatbot Chatbot icon.

    3. —Or—

    Select Equipment, then from the navigation bar, select the Chatbot Chatbot icon.

    The Charlie chatbot home page displays.

  3. To see how Charlie can assist with entries, select View Capabilities.
  4. To enter equipment details, type in the text box Add icon.

    5. —Or—

    Select Microphone Microphone icon to activate the microphone and speak.

  5. Select Expand icon to expand the text box.
  6. To send your text to Charlie, select Send Send icon. Charlie may request additional information. If so, provide additional text to respond to Charlie, then select Send icon.
