Drawing Annotations
Annotate a drawing from a record to identify the area in the drawing that needs action or information. See Drawing Measurements for information on measurement tool annotations.
- Select to undo a style, move, or resize The Undo button is not applicable to annotations with labels. For annotations with labels, you must select the annotation, then select Edit before you can move, resize, or update the style of the annotation.
- Select the Measurements tool to choose the Calibrate, Distance, Perimeter, or Area tool. See Drawing Measurements for more information. A calibration must be added before the Distance, Perimeter, or Area tools are activated.
- Select the Camera tool to pin photos or videos to your drawing
- Select the Write tool to choose the Pencil tool or Text tool
- Select the Shape tool to choose a cloud, rectangle, or circle/ellipse annotation
In the drawings viewer, you can filter annotations by selecting the filter icon.
Four filters applied to the annotations list
Annotation filters include records filters and annotations filters.
- Select to filter and view specific record types.
- Select to filter and view specific record statuses.
- Select to filter and view the annotations based on records assigned to a specific contact.
- Select to filter and view annotations based on the records assigned to a specific company.
- Select to filter and view specific annotation types.
- Select to filter and view annotations by color.
- Select to filter and view annotations created by a specific team member.
- Select to apply the filters you have chosen.

If no filters are selected, the All annotations button displays. To view all annotations in the drawing, select it.
- Select to clear chosen filters.
- Select x to close the filter list and return to the drawing viewer.

These filters are only visible when relevant information such as assignee, company, or contacts are included within the drawing.
- The Assigned to contact filter does not display if there are no assignees within the drawing.
The Assigned to company filter does not display if there are no companies within the drawing.
The Created by filter does not display if there are no contacts who created annotations within the drawing.
For record types filters, if Drawing (Current) is selected, then Drawing - Current displays as an option for a status filter. If the Drawing (Current) filter is not selected for record types, then Drawing - Current and Drawing - Not Current are options for status filters.

In the drawings viewer, annotations with linked records display a label. For measurement annotations, a label displays even if there are no linked records. Unlike web, mobile labels cannot be moved.
Record type annotation labels match the fill color of the annotation. If there is no fill color, then the label matches the stroke color. Measurement tool labels always match the stroke color.
If you copy an annotation, neither the linked record or label is copied.
See the tables below for record type and measurement annotation label standard formats. All labels except Daily Reports and Meetings include a record type abbreviation and number, or "NA" if no number exists. For example, a punch item with no record number displays as "P N/A." Daily Reports and Meetings include a record type and date.

In the web application, the Record Type Abbreviation can be changed in Nomenclature.
For measurement annotations, a label always displays. Measurement annotations with links display the record type Standard Format like the table above, followed by measurement information. See the table below.

Annotate
- Open the Drawings record.
- Select
to download a drawing. - Select the drawing to open it.
- On the annotations toolbar, select the Write tool
to choose either the Pencil tool
or Text tool
. - Touch the part of the drawing where you wish to drop the annotation.
- Select your annotation to make edits.
- Select Edit.
- Select Style to adjust stroke and fill color, thickness, opacity, or border style.
- To move the box, select and move it to the new location. To resize the box, use the handles to adjust the size.
- Swipe right or left to save your annotation, or select
to save your annotations and return to the Drawings list.

Select the Shape tool
to choose either the Circle/Ellipse
, Rectangle
, or Cloud
annotation.
When you select an annotation tool, it displays in the toolbar, highlighted with a blue box.

to pin one or more photos or videos to your drawing. - Touch the part of the drawing where you wish to drop the photo pin.

Photos/Videos to choose photos or videos from your camera roll.

to edit photos with Photo properties
or to annotate your photos with the Text tool
or Pencil tool

- Select View All to view all your photos and videos in a grid.
- Swipe up or down to return to the drawing annotations toolbar.

- For RFI records, select the Question or Comments box and enter your question / comment.

Edit
- Open the Drawings record.
- Select
to download a drawing. - Select the drawing to open it.
- Select the Photo pin
you want to edit. - Select Edit.
- Select Style to adjust fill color or opacity.
- To move the box, select and move it to the new location. To resize the box, use the handles to adjust the size.
- Select outside of the photo pin box to save it and return to the annotation toolbar.

Select Delete to remove an annotation.
Photos save locally to the app library even if a photo pin is deleted.

to undo your last annotation action.

to download a drawing. - Select the drawing to open it.
- Select the annotation you want to edit.
- Select Edit.
- Select Style to adjust stroke and fill color, thickness, opacity, or border style.
- Swipe right or left to save your annotation, or select
to save your annotations and return to the Drawings list.

You cannot edit a pin with the toolbar.

For annotations with labels, you must select the annotation, then select Edit before you can move, resize, or update the style of the annotation.
Viewing
Once you apply filters to a drawing, those filters will apply to any drawing that you navigate to by swiping right or left, selecting another revision, or selecting recently viewed.
If you select one or more filters, then select an annotation and modify a property so that it no longer matches the active filters, that annotation will be hidden and will not display until you update your filter selection.
- Open the Drawings record.
- Select
to download a drawing. - Select the drawing to open it.
- On the drawing viewer navigation bar, select Filters
. - Select the filters you want apply.
- On the Filters page, to deselect a single filter, select the blue check mark.
A filters list displays.

To remove all selected filters, select Clear.

To apply your chosen filters, select Apply filter(s).
If no filters are selected, the button displays as All annotations. To view all annotations in the drawing, select it.
