Search tips
- To search in a subset of topics, click in the search field and select a filter.
- To search for a specific word or phrase, add quotation marks around it (example: "budget column") in the search field.
- To remove highlighting on the search terms in a topic, click .
- To search within a topic, click , press Ctrl+F, and enter the search term.
External links
You can add external links that are displayed in the app switcher. External links are visible to any user with access to the project.

- Open the settings.
- In the Portfolio settings or Project settings section of the menu, click External links.
You can include variables in the external link URL to pass specific information to another application. The following variables can be included:
- [[PortfolioID]]
- [[PortfolioName]]
- [[ProjectID]]
- [[ProjectName]]
- [[UserID]]
- [[UserDisplayName]]
You add an external link for e-Builder and include [[UserID]] and [[ProjectName]] in the URL.

- The variables are not case-sensitive.

You can add external links that will open to one of the following places:
- New Tab: A new tab in the same browser window.
- New Window: A new browser window.
- Frame: A frame within ProjectSight. The URL may not open if it contains variables or if the company who owns the URL doesn't allow it to appear in a frame.
After you select this option, click the link in the app switcher. If it doesn't work, you can select New Tab or New Window instead.
- On the navigation toolbar, click add_circle (Create).
- In the External Link Name field, enter the unique name with up to 30 characters that will be displayed.
- In the URL field, enter the URL for the link.
- From the Open In list, select where the link will open.
- Click Save.
- To make sure that the external link works as expected, click apps (App switcher) on the topbar, and then click the external link.
The https, http, and ftp protocols are supported in the URL.
The links are displayed alphabetically.
You can edit the names and URLs of external links.
- In the list, click the external link.
- Edit the information for the external link.
The changes are saved automatically.
When you delete an external link, it's removed from the app switcher.
- In the list, click the external link.
- In the panel, click delete (Remove).
- In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
