Search tips
- To search in a subset of topics, click in the search field and select a filter.
- To search for a specific word or phrase, add quotation marks around it (example: "budget column") in the search field.
- To remove highlighting on the search terms in a topic, click .
- To search within a topic, click , press Ctrl+F, and enter the search term.
Contract types
You can create contract types that do or do not commit costs to the budget:
- Committing: The contract amount is applied to the Original Commitments column of the budget after the contract is approved.
- Non-committing: The contract amount isn't applied to the budget.
To open the contract type settings
- In the portfolio or project settings, click Record Settings.
- Click Contracts.
- On the settings menu, click Contract Types.
Default contract types
Several default contract types are available.

Subcontract | Typically an agreement between a general contractor and another contractor for performance of work or delivery of materials. | check |
Creating contract types
You can set a contract type to be committing or non-committing.
To create a contract type
- Click Add new.
- Enter a unique name for the contract type.
- To make the contract type a committing one, click the check mark, so it becomes green (check).
The name can have a maximum of 150 characters.
Editing contract types
To edit a contract type
- To change the name, click the name, and then edit it.
- To change the committing type, click the check mark to change the color.
- Committing: check
- Non-committing: check
You can only change the committing type for unused contract types.
To reorder the contract types
- Click the right side of a card, and then drag it to a different position.
Deleting contract types
You can delete contract types that are in use. The deleted contract types are still linked to the existing items but can't be used for any new items.
To delete a contract type
- On the card, click delete (Remove).
