- To search in a subset of topics, select
in the search field and select a filter.
- To search for a specific word or phrase, add quotation marks around it (example: "budget column") in the search field.
- To remove highlighting on the search terms in a topic, select
.
- To search within a topic, select
, press Ctrl+F, and enter the search term.

Contract types
You can create contract types that do or do not commit costs to the budget:
- Committing: The contract amount is applied to the Original Commitments column of the budget after the contract is approved.
- Non-committing: The contract amount isn't applied to the budget.

- Open the record settings.
- Select Contracts.
- On the settings menu, select Contract Types.

Several default contract types are available.
Type | Description | Committing |

Consultant Agreement | A professional service contract to hire an architect, engineer, or consultant. | |
Consultant Contract | A professional service contract to hire an architect, engineer, or consultant. | |
Other - Committed Cost | A generic contract that commits costs to the budget. | |
Other - Uncommitted Cost | A generic contract that doesn't commit costs to the budget. | |
Owner Contract | Typically a contract between an owner and a general contractor. | |
Prime Contract | Typically a contract between an owner and a general contractor. | |
Professional Services | A contract used to retain professional services, such as architects and consulting engineers. | |
Purchase Order | A contract used to create a purchase order to procure materials, such as a long form purchase order. | |
Subcontract | Typically an agreement between a general contractor and another contractor for performance of work or delivery of materials. |

You can set a contract type to be committing or non-committing.

- Select Add new.
- Enter a unique name for the contract type.
- To make the contract type a committing one, select the check mark, so it becomes green (
).
The name can have a maximum of 150 characters.


- To change the name, select the name, and then edit it.
- To change the committing type, select the check mark to change the color.

You can only change the committing type for unused contract types.

- Select the right side of a card, and then drag it to a different position.

You can delete contract types that are in use. A deleted contract type remains linked to a contract if it was previously selected, but you can't select the deleted contract type for anything else.

- On the card, select
(Remove).
