Filter, Sort, and Search
Some record lists offer filtering, sorting, and searching capabilities.
To ensure effective filtering, sorting, and searching, punctuation and symbols must be used consistently. Be aware that some devices automatically replace symbols or punctuation.
For example:
- Straight quotes (' or ") may change to smart quotes ( ‛ ‘ or “ ”)
- Two dashes may change to an en dash ( – )
- Three dashes may change to an em ( — ) dash
- Three periods may change to ellipses ( … )
In addition, the accent grave (`) can be confused with a single quote, but should only be used to indicate pitch or stressed vowels. To adjust auto-corrections go to settings on your device.
